The best Jeep ever made

Jeep SRT8

This looks like a regular ol’ Jeep Cherokee…so you might be thinking – what’s so special about this?

Before I tell you, let me first ask you a few questions.

Do you need a family vehicle with lots of space that can tow things every so often?

Do you want all the luxury you can think of?  Say heated AND cooled seats…and a heated steering wheel?

Do you want to drive something that is fast enough to put a smile on your face every time?

The Answer

If you answered “yes” to all of the above, then I have the vehicle for you.  Ryan has found all of this in his 2014 Jeep Cherokee SRT8.

This SUV can get you from 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds.  Don’t believe me?  Check this out – directly displayed on the SRT8 media center (ignore the quarter mile time..we slowed down shortly after hitting 60 mph).Jeep SRT8 0-60

The Jeep SRT8 has a handy feature in the car that shows you your 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times etc.  It will even tell you the G-forces you’re experiencing as you make those hard turns.  The fact that Chrysler included this info obviously means that they fully expect you to race this Jeep.

When we took off, Ryan had a full tank of gas and me in the passenger seat.  Under ideal conditions, I’m sure the SRT8 would hit 60 mph even faster.

The best thing about the Jeep SRT8 is that if you have this, you don’t need a second “fun” weekend car.  Take a look below to see what the Jeep can do – surely this is good enough correct?

Oh, so many features

Ryan’s Jeep SRT8 obviously is very quick, but there is a lot more to it than just power.  This vehicle is loaded with options – heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, reclinable rear seats, launch control etc etc.  Best of all (at least to me anyway), you can start the car with your phone!  I love that…

Jeep has included a very useful “launch” button to guarantee that you will launch perfectly each time.  In this 4-door SUV you can catch many unsuspecting drivers by surprise.

My car has a “make launching as difficult as possible” button.  It’s invisible and that mode is engaged all the time.  But I digress..

There are all kinds of different ride modes – sports, tow, track etc.  Just twist the dial to your desired setting.  In track mode, 70% of the power is sent to the rear wheels.  That in addition to the Jeep’s all wheel drive makes launches truly spectacular.

In case you forget what you’re driving, the entertainment center will remind you.  You can customize the color and look for you own Jeep on your dash.

The panoramic sunroof is awesome – makes the interior feel a lot larger than it is.

American cars have improved their interiors so much in recent years that I would say it’s on par with many luxury brands of today.  I have noticed this in Kyle’s ZL1 and also Tom’s C7.  There’s leather and carbon fiber on the dash and the quality of materials feels much better than it has in the past.

Luxury, performance, practicality all in one

If you are dying to get a high performance car but also need something that you can tow your boat with, the Jeep SRT8 should fit the bill. Before I tell you how much it costs (you might be googling this right now), let me emphasize that this is truly a high performance vehicle.  If it wasn’t, then Chrysler wouldn’t have included an option to view “G-forces”, 0-60 times, quarter mile times, or even braking distance!!!  Chrylser means business with this Jeep.

For $60K-$70K, this really is an outstanding SUV.  You do have other options like the Porsche Cayenne GTS, but it costs twice as much!  And if you get a regular SUV in the $40K range, you would still have to buy a sports car for the weekend, right?  So owning the Jeep SRT8 will actually save you money.

It seems to me that Ryan’s Jeep SRT8 is perfect for auto enthusiasts who need a little bit of fun in addition to space and comfort.

Even though I don’t need practicality I would buy this anyway because it’s just that great.
